Why Choose Crates over Boxes? It’s simple really. With stackable features and no need for taping, crates save you time and space. Crates are much stronger and more rigid than your average cardboard box, so they provide the extra protection you need for more fragile or valuable items – particularly during transit. They are cost effective and can be recycled so help the environment too. They are robust, easy to carry and safe to stack and move.
How does it Work You hire the crates are we deliver them to you and collect them when you have unloaded from your new address. The hire Period is usually a week and prices start from just £1.50 per crate.
Don’t Overload Don’t over load your crates Use smaller crates for heavier items like books, and the larger crate size should be for lighter, bulkier items such as bedding. Make sure you leave space in the top of the crate so that the lids of the box can close securely. Also remember we have to be able to lift them!
Essential Items Keep one box aside for your essential items such as the kettle, documents, keys, money, phone etc. and make sure this crate is the last into the Truck, and therefore the first one out.
Organising Make up a list to help you to record what's in each box or container, and use sticky labels to identify the contents. Make sure you put the labels either all on the ends of the crates. That way, when they're stacked, you can see all the labels at the same time.
Protection It is essential that you have plenty of bubble wrap to wrap delicate and fragile items. We can provide this for you.
